Call for actors for PURE MEDEA
Call for actors to submit headshot + resume to Automatic Arts (automaticartsco.com) for PURE MEDEA, an adaptation of Medea by Euripides conceived and directed by Josh McIlvain. PURE MEDEA takes place during a rehearsal of Medea by a fictitious theater company. We are looking for actors who can be comfortable with the Medea language, but do not need to be classically trained, nor experienced in “classical” theater.
All roles involve both playing the character in the original Medea and the actor playing that role—so the dialogue is a mix of Greek drama and the naturalistic exchange between the actors.
Exact dates to be determined but 7-10 performances over 2 weekends will be between May 1–18.
Rehearsals will begin 5 weeks prior to opening, with a few early workshop/rehearsals in the coming months. We make accommodations as necessary—however, this show must be your priority during the main rehearsal/show time.
